:

In this position, you will be a member of AECOM’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) team working on the GO MAINE program to promote sustainable travel options to individuals and organizations. The Statewide TDM program of MaineDOT and the Maine Turnpike Authority, GO MAINE, aims to reduce vehicle miles traveled, provide Mainers greater options for mobility, and improve air quality by encouraging people to use green, sustainable transportation modes such as carpooling, vanpooling, public transportation, teleworking, ferries, walking, and bicycling.

The Outreach Coordinator performs a range of TDM and outreach tasks, aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers, commuters and/or college students to utilize non-drive alone means of transportation. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will be responsible for promoting travel options by hosting promotion and/or educational events at employer worksites, community events, and providing individuals with details of their transportation options. In addition, you will assist with large scale program events such as Way 2 GO MAINE and build the GO MAINE network among stakeholders and community organizations. While the program provides statewide coverage, the Outreach Coordinator will be focused on engagement activities across Cumberland and York counties.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct onsite events, promotions, and marketing activities at partner sites to promote non-drive alone transportation use and GO MAINE program participation
  • Generate measurable results from employer or commuter participation in GO MAINE programs
  • Track employer relationships and activities over time, by compiling and maintaining thorough reports of communications and participation using Salesforce
  • Assist with worksite and community based TDM planning and guide the implementation of commute options programs at employer sites (e.g., carpool, pre-tax transit benefits, teleworking, bicycle programs, commute incentives, etc.)
  • Attend local networking and public meetings
  • Increase participation and program awareness with employer partners and other relevant stakeholders
  • Support marketing and communications activities and special promotions and campaigns
  • Create, maintain, and expand relationships with new and existing employer, community and stakeholder partners
  • Conduct presentations for stakeholders, employers, and commuters
  • Devise new approaches to challenges encountered
