Basic Purpose
The Global Trade Compliance Analyst works in partnership with all lines of business, purchasing, logistics, service providers, suppliers, customs brokers and government agencies to oversee regulatory compliance for the Company’s import and export transactions. The Global Trade Compliance Analyst should have working knowledge of U.S. import/export laws and regulations, including the Harmonized Tariff schedule, government permits and licensing requirements, Import Security Filings (“ISFs”), CF28’s, FTAs, ITAR and OFAC.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Monitor Global Trade Compliance Trade email inbox.
- Evaluate compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, working closely with legal.
- Issue certificates of origin.
- Handle third-party screening and maintain internal records for internal audit.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement global trade initiatives.
- Track ocean and air shipments and organize key documents and help manage broker relationships.
- Work with suppliers to ensure ISFs are completed timely.
- Process vendor invoices through accounts payable.
- Work with vendors, customers, sellers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with import and export transactions.
- Update NAFTA documents and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Conduct research on global trade regulations, trends, and policies to inform the company’s trade strategy.
- Monitor changes to global trade policies and regulations and provide updates to key stakeholders.
- Analyze and interpret data on trade flows, tariffs, and quotas to identify potential opportunities and risks for the company.
- Process payment of taxes, duties, and fees for payment to government agencies.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)
- Demonstrated customer focus and the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task.
- Proficiency with the MS Office package, including SharePoint; SAP experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns and trends.
- Excellent written communications skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Minimum of three (3) years of Global Trade Regulatory Compliance experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of global trade regulations and policies, including customs procedures, tariff classifications, and trade agreements.
