Global Marketing Communications Specialist, Microbiology Division (MBD)


The Global Marketing Communications Campaign Specialist will develop, produce, promote and measure globally planned annual Microbiology Division activities across the full marketing communications mix for a specific target audience or campaign.

The role requires hands on content strategy experience to engage and lead target audiences to advocacy. Robust digital marketing (social, paid, SEO/SEM, content tactical mix) and project management skills are therefore key to success.

For this pivotal role, we seek an excellent teammate able to partner closely with other marketing operations colleagues, regional marketing, product management, as well as wider collaborators in commercial, finance, customer service and external marketing service suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT

  • Recommend appropriate channels and lead the shaping of customer journeys, creative positioning, and messaging to achieve campaign project objectives, in collaboration with global and regional marketing colleagues.

  • Lead the selection, set up, briefing and management of all required external marcom partners in line with procurement and corporate brand guidelines.

  • Lead development and deployment of all tactical assets within budget. Set up appropriate return on investment campaign and project tracking.

  • Responsible for 100% adherence to marketing governance submissions (legal, brand, data processing, finance spend)

  • Ensure distribution of deliverables to appropriate channels, including content libraries, website, publications, etc.

CONTENT

  • Consolidate and agree a cohesive quarterly rolling campaign content promotion calendar for target audience with marketing team member.

  • Agree topics, digital media plan and report out on results.

  • Consult on content best practice and advise on content creation with other teams to ensure all published content meets Thermo Fisher requirements, brand requirements and standard process guidelines.

  • Drive the evolution of existing content marketing campaigns and develop recommendations for future high-impact programs to help reach organizational and brand goals.

MEASUREMENT AND TRACKING

  • Work with other marketing operations colleagues to set up tracking, report out key results associated with campaign activities at project level.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement marketing operations process improvements.
  • Track campaign-related spends, and ensure adherence to budget.

  • Set up and maintain production processes and libraries for efficient retrieval and historical tracking of activities.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree or Masters in digital marketing or similar and proven experience in a life science/ diagnostic/pharma marketing role including digital content development.

  • Extensive marcoms mix production experience across digital, on and offline medium. Creative and media planning briefing experience.

  • Expertise in paid, and organic social media campaigns, including Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Experience of Adobe Analytics, google to track campaign performance

  • Strong communicator, including writing skills for content development

  • Analytical skills with data driven decisiveness

  • Solution driven and resourceful.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, and also have flexibility to accommodate some office-based work.
