WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
As the Global Brand Narrative Director, you will build the voice that expresses the heart and soul of the Nike brand. You will connect our purposeful initiatives with stories around athletes, products and services that inspire our consumers! You will drive and champion creative global concepts aligned to the strategic direction provided by our Brand Creative team.
You enjoy collaborating and working within environments where you can learn, be given the responsibility to explore creative ideas whilst working against a clear brief. You’re not afraid of working within new areas, pushing your thinking to deliver innovative storytelling. You have experience working at scale and can handle your own schedule effectively. You enjoy crafting the detail all the way to delivery and proactively look to build on these skills.
You are familiar with working in close partnership with writers, designers, and producers, with an ability to both understand and participate in strategic conversations and can lead others through the creative process.
As a Narrative Director, you will drive creative concepts and big ideas in partnership with an Art Director and will be responsible for creative excellence in every part of the storytelling journey: creative concepts, executions, writing, etc. You will oversee copywriters in their delivery of outstanding writing, with results that include headlines and body copy for out-of-home, retail, digital channels, and other consumer-facing creative work. You will partner with the Social team to oversee the voice of Nike on social media, inclusive of concepts, captions, and reactive efforts. You will collaborate with internal partners to help craft brand and seasonal strategy and product positioning. You will supervise project work for the highest standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy to ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively outstanding, and delivered on time. Finally, as a key member creative team, you will encourage and motivate your teammates around you, working in a hands-on and highly collaborative manner.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Drive complex workstreams independently and direct others in order to develop a well-crafted narrative. Work to lead and deliver end-to-end creative concepts across Product Launches, Brand Stories, Retail Executions, and Consumer Events working from strategy through concept and finishing with premium executions at all levels across all channels. This includes: Seasonal Stories/Products, Long Term Consumer Concepts, Construct Specifics, Purpose Stories, Sport/Cultural Moments, Social Media Content. This will also include designated teams supporting both Creative Operations and Production.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, playing a pivotal role in implementing creative storytelling across all of our channels, always thinking about the next click. Partner with the team around you to translate briefs and marketing plans into emotive and innovative stories. You will lead workstreams independently developing and crafting creative concepts for both product launches and campaigns across the globe.
Multitasking different projects will require you to carefully plan and manage your schedule effectively. Working closely with the senior creatives, you’ll play a part in crafting the future voice and storyline of the brand across every consumer touchpoint.
You will proactively learn new skills and stay abreast of technical and digital developments and successfully apply these to work practices. You’ll share this knowledge with the wider design community and work with them to ensure continuity across our initiatives and projects.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will report to the Senior Creative Director, but day-to-day you’ll work alongside Brand Narrative Managers and Narrative Writers, designers, producers, and communication professionals, partnering closely with Brand Creative senior leaders. You will also work directly with internal and external creatives – commissioning various work across multiple fields. You’ll be required to collaborate with your counterparts across the Geo and Territory Studios to help establish and develop our creative network.
Within the broader Marketing organization, you will work closely with the Purpose construct team to strategize and implement the annual concept map, developing and delivering creativity that answers the brief.
Aside from the day-to-day, you may get the opportunity to mentor and lead others within your subject area, supporting their growth and development.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING?
  • Validated experience leading photography and video/film productions; from pre-production to on-set leadership and post-production
  • Good understanding of interactive communication, processes, and user interface design for online products
  • A Bachelor's Degree or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Experience in leading agencies and internal partners to deliver high-caliber work
  • A deep connection to purpose work (DE&I and Sustainability)
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Great understanding of consumer behavior. You have significant consumer knowledge throughout the globe
  • Great human and leadership skills that enable the team to grow. This includes a strong ability to listen and empower the team
  • A shown ability to lead and mentor other writers and creatives
  • A minimum of 8 years of creative experience in an editorial, content marketing, brand marketing, or related creative field
  • Proven origination of innovative storytelling across multiple categories
