Job Description

The Entry GIS Analyst is responsible for planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS data in accordance with the requirements of various projects as assigned by Tetra Tech’s project managers service public/private clients. Candidates must be knowledgeable with ESRI's software products. Duties include performing simple data analyses to provide Clients with desired deliverables and supporting project teams. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role:

The Entry GIS Analyst will play a key role in supporting existing and new Clients and Project Managers with planning and design of projects for a variety of municipal, state, and federal clients throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Major duties/responsibilities of the position require a working knowledge of and the ability to carry out the following tasks:

  • Develop GIS projects consisting of vector, raster, and tabular data.
  • Meet with project managers to define data needs, project requirements, or required outputs.
  • Perform quality control on database attributes.
  • Assist with project pursuits including the preparation of proposals and the development of project scopes.
  • Provide geospatial technical support.
  • Responsible for the development and production of reports, presentations, maps, and models for a variety of environmental, utility, and water resources projects.
  • Work with a project team to support a variety of municipal, state, and federal projects.

Qualifications:

  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Python programming or related programming experience a plus Database management skills preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or related field. GIS Certificate preferred.
