Genetic Counselor Jobs

Specific responsibilities include:

• Recommend genetic testing to patients and families as needed
• Train and onboard other genetic counselors
• Review and summarize medical genetic diagnoses, etiologies, inheritance patterns, and risks of occurrence and reoccurrence
• Coordinate between different external contacts, such as partners, ordering physicians and clients, in order to ensure seamless transitions throughout the counseling and implementation process
• Prepare and submit Genosity abstracts, publications, and posters
• Support variant review analysts and geneticists on R&D and technical projects related to Genosity laboratory services when needed
• Compose patient reports in a timely manner
• Interpret NGS results in a clinical context using concise language

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human genetics, health sciences or a related degree
• ABGC certification or active candidate status required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend medical diagnoses
