We Are Currently Seeking


General Manager of Construction, Huntsville


The General Manager will be responsible for project management and estimating of commercial fence projects for the Huntsville, AL office, the day-to-day activities of the Huntsville, AL office, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities


  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Understand department financials and work with CFO and Integrator to monitor and improve bottom line within division. Responsible for division financial performance.
  • Responsible for managing the performance of all Pre-Construction and Sales, Pre-Construction and Construction operations of the region.
  • Help facilitate the balance and open communication within the region regarding workload needs or capacity constraints between Pre-Construction and Operations.
  • Take lead in setting the sales/bid strategy for both macro (preferred client or job types) and micro (“hot jobs”). This includes prioritizing bid calendar, culling out certain clients, developing a “close” strategy to win a project, and confirming best approach in following up on previous bid proposals (and getting appropriate feedback).
  • Coordinate with CFO and Administration Department to ensure department supervisors within the region are following processes and communication procedures of the Accounting/Administration departments.
  • Review and recommend hiring needs, terminations, or personnel changes, including compensation within the region.
  • Collaborate with Company President, Sr. Vice President, and Vice President on setting goals and vision for region.
  • Be a mentor and transfer knowledge to middle management as well as other employees within the region and Company as applicable.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in regional processes and oversee new processes as required.
  • Set expectations for each direct report and consistently review/monitor performance and provide feedback for improvements or corrections.
  • Enforce and communicate processes within the region.


Qualifications


  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience in construction management and/or construction estimating required
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Building Science, Construction or Engineering
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience in the construction or electronic security industry.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a proactive (not just reactive) approach in finding and solving problems in subordinate departments before they become larger problems.
  • Experience with federal government projects is preferred, but not required.
