Job Description

We are seeking a Production Planning & Control General Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing Services. This job is with an industry leading automotive manufacturing company.


You will lead and develop Production Planning and Control Operations. You will orchestrate continuous improvement of scheduling processes, control and handling of inventories, on-time delivery, and costs.



This position is perfect for someone who has worked in a plant that does vehicle assembly, automotive parts machining, and custom paint. Relocation assistance is available. Excellent compensation includes a company vehicle.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead supply chain employees, including their development, mentoring, and evaluation. Champion the development of team members, empowering decision-making in the team.
  • Track and analyze logistics costs to reduce expenses and improve logistics effectiveness. Manage third party logistics company.
  • Manage domestic and oversee parts procurement while maintaining inventory at optimum levels.
  • Communicate a vision to your staff that encourages them to produce their best work. Encourage creative ideas. Model inclusive behaviors.
  • Resolve supply chain problems which have the potential to impact the overall production operations.
  • Resolve production problems involving materials. Reduce risk in the supply chain.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least ten years of experience as a top-level Manager, Director, or similar in an automotive manufacturing environment, especially automotive assembly.
  • Some familiarity with Asian business culture in an automotive manufacturing environment would be a great plus.
  • This job will require up to 10-15% travel, including to Japan.
  • BS degree is a must, preference for a MS degree.
  • Experience leading a team in a high level supply chain management role.
