General Maintenance Technician Jobs

Job Responsibilities

Independently performs general maint. tasks and/or performs planning, managerial, & supervisory duties - as identified - regarding repairs, maint. and construction. Assists Campus Facilities Director w/ repair, maintenance & construction activities. Performs and directs activities related to repair, maint., & construction activities involving one or more trades (i.e., carpentry, electricity, welding, heating, venting & air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, boiler operation & energy plant operations). Maintains records, prepares reports regarding work activities, makes recommendations on repair, replacement & maint. of buildings and equipment.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis for basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer an associate degree and two (2) years directly related work experience; or four (4) years directly related work experience. Prefer supervisory skills and facilities maintenance related certifications/licensure. Must have a strong background in general maintenance skills.
