This is the Role:
We are looking for professionals to join our Chicago team here at Rockfon as General Maintenance, on our 1st shift 6:30am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
General Maintenance will be responsible for general repairs and/or rebuilding of production equipment, helping maintenance technicians with daily tasks, 5S and continues improvement projects.
  • Set up and operate Torches, Drill Presses, Parts Cleaning, Band Saws, Forklifts, Jib Hoists/Cranes, High Lifts, Rigging, and others as needed for maintenance. Also, use a variety of standard maintenance hand tools as required.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for majority of the day and can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Gain knowledge in various functions of the plant to support/backfill various departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must have availability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Collaborate with others such as contractors, workers, and other professionals during renovations, including maintaining good relationships with internal customers and colleagues.
  • Take inventory and refill supplies related to maintenance
  • Install and or move furniture, appliances, and equipment
  • Engage in continuous improvement and engineering projects inside and outside maintenance
  • Layout, move, align, level, anchor, and grout machinery.
  • Perform general and expert cleaning activities.

  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify machinery using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with field operational procedures, including preventative maintenance and change overs, under the directive of a qualified company employee.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the department, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace via standard industrial 5S, and other practices governed by company and government policies. Also, participate in safety committees and activities as directed.
