Job Description
Norhart is driven by a simple purpose, to create a better way for us all to live. To fulfill that purpose, we need a fantastic team. As a Gypcrete Laborer, you play an integral role in creating quality apartments for our residents to call home for years to come. You will work with our team in new construction, building apartments from the ground up. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, detail-oriented, and communicate effectively.


From Apprentice 1 through Journeyman, we paid:


  • Apprentice 2 - $28.00/hr
  • Journeyman - $40.00/hr
  • Apprentice 3 - $33.00/hr
  • Apprentice 4 - $37.00/hr
  • Apprentice 1 - $23.00/hr.


As a Gypcrete Laborer, you will be responsible for:


  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, high-vis apparel, and additional protection as required by the task
  • Assist with gypcrete activities
  • Properly maintain all equipment, formwork, and tools, so they are in safe and reliable working condition
  • Work in a kneeling, crouching or bent over position on a frequent basis
  • Assist with flooring activities
  • Work in a variable environment, both indoors and outdoors. Work during inclement weather when required, including extreme heat/cold
  • Communicate effectively with your crew lead, foreman, and superintendent on safety, task questions, and problem-solving
  • Installing gypcrete on wood and steel subfloors
  • Safely perform general labor tasks, including power tools and common hand tools


Requirements


  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds as needed
  • Gypcrete experience
  • Proficient in using tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Flooring experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lead


Other Requirements


  • A can-do attitude
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with proper insurance
  • Must pass criminal background check
