Job Description


This position is with a Cotton Processing Company! You will be helping take the cotton you see in the fields all the way down to the bare seed to package and replant for next season. You will be in charge of monitoring large industrial sized ginning and delinting equipment. You will also preform test for PH, Quality and quality control.


During the season they also complete what they call "variety cleans" this includes taking apart the large industrial equipment, cleaning it, and putting it back together in a 24-40 hour period so they are able to process another variety of seed. This is hard laboress work when variety cleans are needed. It is also not temperature controlled so it is hot when it is hot and cold when it is cold.


The current hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-3pm BUT come Septemeber they will ramp up and start a 2nd and 3rd shift as well. During this time you will have to be okay working any shift given.

Requirements


Work Experience


  • Clean Background in the last 7 years
  • LOTO Knowledge
  • OSHA Knowledge
  • You will have to use ladders so if you are afraid of heights this may not be the job for you.
  • Confined Space Knowledge
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and be clean shaven.


More Information


If selected for this position you must pass a drug screen, a fit physical which is your ability to bend, stoop, kneel and carry up to 50lbs, as well as a respirator clearance. The cotton processing company uses chemicals to treat the seed. This means you will be required to wear a respirator and be clean shaven when the plant is up and processing the seed.
