General Laborer Jobs

This position is responsible for providing general labor work to support the plant and yard operations.

1. Work to load and unload company delivery trucks to fulfill customer orders.
2. Under the direction of senior plant personnel, complete assigned yard tasks, such as
routine clean up or maintenance of grounds.
3. Operates equipment, such as forklift or skid loader in a safe and efficient manner.
4. Conducts routine tasks that will require general labor activities such as shoveling,
lifting and or moving materials with and without assistance and other routine tasks
that may require the use of hand tools.
5. Conducts general outdoor and indoor housekeeping of the yard and buildings.
6. Complete daily maintenance assignments.
7. Must complete all required paperwork including accounting, timecards, safety or
equipment reports on a daily basis.
8. Must work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Two year's experience in a general laborer position.
2. Must possess a valid class C state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving
record, per Knife River Fleet policy.
3. Regular attendance required.

Physical Requirements:

Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing

to a significant degree.

Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50

pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move
objects.

Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

Head movement/rotation moving head in any direction (up, down, side to side).

Requires climbing in and out of ready-mix truck multiple times a day.

Working Conditions:

Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) in accordance with

company policy.

Exposure to dust, fumes and gases.

Exposure to outside working conditions; to cold or hot temperatures.

Must work as needed, given the unpredictability of how long jobs or trips will take,

including overtime, nights, and weekends.
