Job Description

Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Summary:

A General Foreman is responsible for the close supervision of craft foremen and workers. This position will have regular communication and interface with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s B safe and B best culture in all aspects of the business
  • Responsible for site safety, quality, progress and schedule
  • Conduct all required crew meetings on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Ensure that all appropriate work permits are in place and job site is free of hazards and or dangerous conditions prior to the commencement of any work
  • Ensure proper planning and scheduling of resources, monitoring, and taking corrective actions
  • Assist Project Manager in developing and implementing project Execution Plan, Quality Control Plan, and Site Safety Plan
  • Understand scope of contract and change order process
  • Ensure no out of scope work is performed without approved change order
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with customer specifications
  • Effectively resolves customer issues / discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell Brock’s product and service offerings
  • Identify all operations aspects of the job including: labor, equipment, consumables and materials
  • Manage work to ensure compliance with established KPIs
  • Audit ongoing operations and identify opportunities for field efficiencies and standardization of methods
  • Ensure scope, job efficiency and productivity are met
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentors site and supervision and craft employees
  • Identify knowledge gaps and ensures that all site personnel receive appropriate training
  • Suggest and initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and hires
  • Attend any assigned site meeting where information is exchanged relating to Brock scope work
  • Support Client/Brock incident reporting policies and ensure are met or exceeded
  • Ensure that all equipment on the job site is in safe and efficient working condition

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Meet Brock’s Fit For Duty Program
  • Ability to meet and maintain customer requirements for site access
  • Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, shop locations, and office.
  • Necessary Personal Protective Equipment is required.
  • Travel as required
  • Working at heights
  • Must be able to work in all types of environments, extreme heat or cold
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Must have required tools
  • Must have transportation to and from the work location

  • Manages conflict with a minimum of noise by integrating diverse views and finding common ground or acceptable alternatives
  • Ability and willingness to seek out areas for improvement and solve problems
  • Demonstrates courage to address difficult issues
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in craft and / or
  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience
