Front Of House Supervisor

Summary: Oversee, direct, and coordinate front of the house restaurant staff. Assist the restaurant management team with operations and training. Assist with resolution of guest concerns.

Job Duties:

Primary

• Observes workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service and provides assistance to the management team for completion of disciplinary write-ups.
• Coordinates with and assists fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operations of the restaurant.
• Supervises and participates in dining area cleaning activities.
• Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
• Assists in cash control and other receipts for the shift by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
• Investigates complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations and reports to management.
• Fills-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
• Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel.
• Performs some food preparation or service tasks such as packaging items, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.

Supplemental

• Greet and seat guests, and present menus and wine lists.
• Take reservations
• Present bills and accept payments.

• Tablets and computer

• Point-of-sale software, terminals and workstations
• Inventory management software

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the restaurant industry
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for at least 8 hours
• Must have reliable transportation
• Outgoing, pleasant personality, and a desire to please guests
