Baylor Line is an independent, nonprofit news outlet for Baylor alumni that has been covering the Baylor Family from beyond campus for over 75 years.


Role Description

This is a freelance, remote role for a Writer at Baylor Line. The Freelance Writer will be responsible for researching and writing articles about the Baylor community and alumni, and ensuring that all content meets Baylor Line's editorial standards. The Freelance Writer will work on a contract basis, and will be able to work from anywhere.


Qualifications

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Experience writing for a news outlet or similar publication
  • Strong knowledge of Baylor University and the Baylor community.
  • Experience with AP Style guidelines
  • Ability to meet deadlines and write multiple articles per week
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field or related career experience
