The Opportunity


The Forklift Operator performs tasks associated with moving goods from one place to another on loading docks or in the warehouse. The operator might be required to load trucks, unload trucks or be asked to supply work areas with products or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area. The forklift operator is responsible for inspecting the lifts before use and participating in training sessions for license renewal. This position is a 3rd shift position working Monday through Friday from 11 pm to 7:30 am. This position pays $18.00 with shift differentials.


Responsibilities 


  • Assist in physical inventories
  • Create a Bill of Lading as required
  • Operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials
  • Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas
  • Unloading inbound shipments safely and moving products to storage locations
  • Comply with safety standards
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained
  • Maintain accountability for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift
  • Collaborate with external warehouses to organize product returns and inbound transfers
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; reporting quality variances where applicable
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area
  • Inspect trailers, raw materials and finished goods for defective products and/or ingredients
  • Ensure that operations are conducted in a manner that promotes safety
  • Ensure proper stock rotation


Experience


  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills preferred
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices preferred
  • A commitment to a strong health and safety culture
  • 3 years manufacturing-related experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A commitment to a strong quality culture
  • Completion of a forklift training certificate required
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment required
