About the Role:
Our Footwear Product Developer will be responsible for sample requests, footwear construction details (including pattern, last, and outsoles), fitting, and costing of seasonal development while adhering to the TOMS Go To Market Calendar milestones and critical events. In addition to standard shoe development experience, you will ensure all footwear meets company product quality standards as well as sustainability and budget goals. This role works collaboratively with our Product and Merchandising teams and plays an integral role in the development of TOMS footwear.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with fit and wear testing of sample and extreme size
- Organize and manage the writing and submitting of sample requests for seasonal development
- Provide timely and transparent reporting about development activities, successes, and issues toward goals to Management
- Actively support dual sourcing & development activities to create options for factory, product quality, and costs
- Actively engage in project management for sample making through seasonal rounds and reviews towards ready-for-production status
- Actively participate in seasonal reviews of product maintaining a Product Tracker Record on changes, drops, and adds to seasonal lines
- Adhere to final product standards and confirmation for production
- Work cross-functionally with Merchandising on Product needs and costing margin goals
- Proactively collaborate with Design team members to translate design concepts into understandable product specifications
What You Bring:
- Strong communication and analytical reporting skills
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, and Product Line Management Systems
- Commitment to making kindness in business a standard
- 3-5 years of experience working with and problem-solving for footwear constructions and materials
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to communicate and remove obstacles collaboratively
- Team-oriented working styles and the ability to work cross-functionally
