Position Summary
The New Orleans Saints are seeking an individual with strong internal drive for the position of Football Data Analyst. This is a Full Time role based in New Orleans, LA. This person will apply their extensive technical background to assist in developing tools that help inform game management, opponent preparation, player evaluation, roster construction, and sports science.

What You Will Be Doing
- Identify effective metrics for player evaluation
- Build interactive visualization tools to be used by coaches, football operations, and strength staff
- Implement statistical models to evaluate player performance and predict future performance
- Create statistical profiles of opponents that includes tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses
- Perform tests to ensure data accuracy
- Conduct ad-hoc research for coaches, football operations, and strength staff
- Proven track record of using visualizations to convey potentially complex relationships
- Passion for football with a deep understanding of its strategies
- Strong mathematical acumen
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, such as evenings and weekends, within a team environment
- Knowledge of SQL and a statistical programming language such as R and Python
- Willingness to relocate to New Orleans, LA
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative field
- Experience working with football data, including Next Gen Stats tracking data
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Shiny, Tableau, or PowerBI
- Proficiency in SQL development and database technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of R
- Experience in scouting opponents and developing tools to assist in game planning
- Ability to manage a variety of SQL databases and data warehouses.
