Occ Summary

Perform routine food service tasks and manual work under immediatesupervision or detailed instructions in a food produ ction and/or foodservice area; operate dish machine; wash, clean and mop food serviceareas as assigned.


Work Performed

Assist inthe preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, bakedgoods and de sserts; prepare foods to include beverages, salads,dressings, sandwiches ,and cold plates.Operate food production equipment to include slicers, c hoppers,dicers, mixers, vertical cutters, patty making machines, and oth ervegetable, bakery, and meat processing equipment.Transport food or sup plies to serving areas; ensure that areas areproperly set up; assemble a nd replenish food, supplies, and equipmentas required; ensure proper tem peratureof food in steam tables andcorrect counter display; take orders, portion, and serve food tocustomers; record portions served according to procedure; remove,cover, wrap, label, store, rotate, and discard foodan d condiments asdirected.Clean assigned areas following proper sanitarypr ocedures; sweep, mopfloors and vacuum rugs and carpets in assigned areas as needed.Clear soiled dishes and refuse from tables in dining halls; s craperefuse into garbage containers; load trays and soiled dishes onconv eyers, racks, and carts; remove and dispose of trash.Set up and operate dish machine to clean dishes, trays, silverware,glassware, pots, pans, a nd utensils; sort utensils and equipment;inspect cleaned items for quali ty of operations.Maintain sufficient stock and supplies for the proper p erformance ofduties; unload incomingsupplies and equipment; unpack and assistinreceiving, issuing, and transporting materials; verify quantity ofreceived goods against invoices and notify supervisor of discrepancies ;stock supplies and equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures;a ssemble supplies and deliver to ordering unit, using hand truck ifneeded ; report needed items for reorder.Perform other related duties incidenta l to the work described herein.The above statements describe the general nature and level of workbeing performed by individuals assigned tothis classification.This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of allrespo nsibilitiesand duties required of personnel so classified.
