Job Description
Duties


  • Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.
  • Basic cleaning, kitchen, dining, and storage areas and equipment.
  • Follows all safety, security, and good housekeeping rules.
  • Takes delivery of supplies and ensures proper storage of shipments after delivery.
  • In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc. Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages. Operates cash register.

Conditions of Employment


  • Must meet state/local age requirement of twenty-one (21) for the serving of alcoholic beverages, beer and soda at the time of appointment.
  • Working Conditions: May work indoors in normal indoor kitchen and dining room conditions and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions running a food cart.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within thirty (30) days of employment and a minimum of four (4) hours refresher training annually.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Working Conditions: May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces and extreme temperature changes when entering walk in refrigerators or freezing units.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Working Condition: Frequent walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Lifting requirement: Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.
  • Physical Effort: Incumbent must have the mental, physical, oral, and audio ability to perform all of the duties of this job in both a satisfactory and safe manner.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment is subject to completion and favorable results of a medical examination to determine suitability for this position.

Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to


  • Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
  • Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
  • Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.
