The Role: Food & Agricultural Economist Researcher
The Location: TN, US
The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights is a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions for the livestock and row crop sectors. Our team is focused on fundamental supply and demand forecasts which culminate in price forecasts and real-time market intelligence.
The Impact: The Crops Economist functions as a core member of the team in the editing and publication of quality analyses, while also assisting senior staff in client-facing creating reports.
What’s in it for you: This position provides the right candidate with an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the agricultural commodity markets. In this role, the Crops Economist will work with experienced market specialists to produce market-leading intelligence.
Responsibilities: In this role, the right candidate will:
Focus on details to ensure accurate reporting for regular daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables.
Assist senior team members in developing and maintain fundamental supply and demand work for US and global markets.
Communicate the results of research through a variety of outlets including internal meetings, written reports for clients, market intelligence on the S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Connect website, and informal interactions with clients via telephone and email.
This position will form a critical facilitator for all communications to clients via the Connect platform.
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to learn and develop as a member of the S&P Global Commodity Insights team. Key features include:
Superior written and oral communications.
Outstanding attention to detail.
A good understanding of economic theory, and the ability to apply it to both cash and futures markets.
A passion for learning and intellectual curiosity.
Excellent MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI skills.
Grade/Level ( relevant for internal applicants only ): Grade Level 09.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 44,200.00 to 75,000.00. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
