Position Summary
The role of the Floor Tech reports to the Manager of Environmental Services. This position is responsible for performing floor maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
- Collecting and properly disposing of trash and waste material
- Comply with proper handling and use of EVS chemicals and equipment
- Provides positive interactions with patients, visitors, and staff
- Learn Teletracking software and use approved electronic devices
- Cleans and disinfects equipment and furniture
- Perform ongoing maintenance reviews for equipment to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to manager
- Utilize various type of automated equipment for cleaning of floor surfaces
- Ensure EVS supply cart is filled with necessary materials at the beginning and end of shift
- Maintain knowledge of proper floor maintenance procedures for all floor surface types
- Replenish disposable items such as soap, paper towel, and toilet paper
- Ensure proper cleaning procedures for floor type are performed
- Cleans up spills and dusts high areas
- Assist with cleaning of patient rooms, as needed
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment as needed
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure and Certifications: N/A
Experience: Previous experience in a floor care technician or similar role, preferred.
