Sussex Fleet Maintenance Trainee

Quad is currently seeking a candidate for our Fleet Maintenance Trainee program at our Sussex location. This is a 2-year program that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction at an approved technical college.

Fleet Trainees assist Experienced Mechanics performing scheduled maintenance, repairs, and fabrication on powered industrial vehicles and fleet related equipment. Our training program includes exposure to Safe work practices, Mechanical & Electrical Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding and Machine tool operation.

The trainee will work in a variety of environments indoors and outdoors. This position will include local travel and may include overnight travel.

The Fleet trainee program includes brief rotations through related production support departments such as the Central Store.

Trainees can receive regular wage increases at performance milestones.

Hours of this position are flexible around school schedules.


Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates must be able to perform the following: lift to 70 pounds occasionally, receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation. Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently with minimal supervision is required.

  • Proficient in basic mechanical repair
  • Ability to use a personal computer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or completed a Maintenance related Technician Program
  • Experience in and Industrial environment a plus
