Job Description

The Resort at Paws Up is seeking to add a Fleet Mechanic to our team. The Fleet Mechanic performs maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on ranch and resort vehicles and off-road equipment in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.


This position starts at $19 an hour and goes up from there depending on experience.


The Primary Functions Are


  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit.
  • Keep current and accurate service records on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with resort road maintenance.
  • Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint.
  • Communicate and maintain timelines and priorities.
  • Move equipment safely in and out of service building.
  • Maintain shop equipment and supply stock; Track shop tools and replace when lost or broken.
  • Complete all Fleet Maintenance projects as assigned
  • Maintain a clean shop area.
  • Comfortability working with our entire fleet. This includes a variety of Ford Vans, explorers, excursions, Chevrolet trucks, Lexus (basic service), Dodge ProMasters, and ProMaster City, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, Seadoos, GoKarts, Trailers, etcs
  • Perform repair work on vehicles and equipment such as breakdowns and malfunctions in a safe, efficient, quality manner.
  • Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format, follow parts ordering/billing procedures.
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform final operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs.


Looking for Team Members with:
  • Excellent customer relations, communication skills, and organizational skills
  • Ability to dismantle repair, construct and maintain machinery and equipment with a high degree of skill
  • Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, and use of tire machine
  • Minimum 4 years’ of maintenance and mechanic working on gasoline, diesel and electric vehicles and equipment
  • Valid State Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years’ of mechanic technical training
  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
