Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor Daily and Weekly Hours of Service, review and audit driver logs
  • - lead employee engagement
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all DOT and applicable state regulations are followed
  • Address safety nonconformance and violations/incidents
  • Meet Accident, Injury and CSA goals through prevention
  • Lead company safety programs and communicate safety expectations

Communication

  • Make suggestions and show initiative for process improvements
  • Effectively utilize inter-office communications, understanding contact and escalation protocol and keeping all stakeholders informed on required information
  • Successful engagement of communication with drivers and stations through multiple mediums, including phone, operating system, email, mobility solutions
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors and employees
  • Effective on-boarding of new drivers
  • Implement and monitor key policies and procedures
  • Drive a high level of engagement with drivers, act as their liaison with the company, addressing issues, resolving discrepancies, understanding their expectations

Financial

Assist Operations Manager with planning and budget process by controlling cost and quality control
  • Ensure documentation and support data are captured
  • Maintain any additional reporting and other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Monitor weekly settlements
  • - equipment utilization, empty miles, out of route miles, on time performance
  • Working knowledge of the Owner Operators and/or Company Drivers pay package and monitor weekly driver settlement results
  • Ensure on time pickup and delivery
  • Clearly communicate client expectations to fleet
  • Drive a service culture
  • - to include daily cost control
  • Client Service
  • Proactive follow up and milestone updates

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Client Service-manages difficult both internal and external client situations, responds promptly to client needs and welcome client feedback
  • Experience working with dispatch and or TMS systems
  • Problem solving- identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents
  • Knowledge of geographic market
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office applications
  • Quality management-look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years, related experience
  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience preferred
