Fitness Center Director Jobs

The Fitness Center Director is responsible for overseeing the fitness center, staff, operations, financial reporting and programs/services while displaying good judgment in providing excellent programs and customer service to our members. The position requires the Director to independently think and creatively control the development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing innovative programming and find creative ways to acquire new fitness center members. The Director will oversee the day-to-day operations, work closely with other staff, fitness center members, vendors, and independent contractors. The Director works both independently and effectively with other staff and fitness center members to achieve and maintain an excellence standard.

Qualifications

· A degree in Business Management, Marketing, Exercise Science or related field

· Experience and interest in the fitness/fitness management field. Previous experience in a fitness management role preferred

· Administrative skills with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to conduct meetings and deliver presentations

· Ability to work independently and in a group setting

· Must display good judgment, think independently and be willing to take on new initiatives

· Ability to work in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment

· Strong marketing skills especially social media

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and multitask efficiently

· Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Familiarity with market trends and industry best practices in fitness programming

· Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

· Oversee the daily operations of the fitness center

· Market all gym activities and services through promotions, advertising, social media platforms, etc.

· Implement strategic planning to retain current members and attract new members

· Manage and train fitness staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations

· Manage programs including personal training and group fitness class instruction

· Ensure a safe and clean environment for members

· Provide exceptional customer service and address member concerns or inquiries

· Monitor and evaluate facility and program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments

· Compile date to maintain accurate records and reports related to fitness center programs

· Implement and enforce fitness center policies and procedures as necessary

· Lead professional staff meetings

· Other responsibilities as agreed upon by District 901 Gym Executive Director

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
