Fire Chief for the City of Novi, MI

The City of Novi, MI, a beautiful community of 60,000+, Fire Department seeks qualified applicants for the position of Fire Chief. The Novi Fire Department is a combination department with 30 full-time and 43 part-time employees; 8,297 fire and EMS calls received in 2022. Work involves thorough knowledge of fire suppression and prevention, EMS services, thorough knowledge of the Fire Accreditation process, hazardous materials incident management, code enforcement, supervision, decision making, and annual budget preparation.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Public or Business Administration or related field, master's degree preferred; seven to ten (7-10) years of management and supervisory experience with at least five (5) years of experience at the level of a Captain or higher. Must also demonstrate proficiency in the proper, safe, and efficient use of fire service equipment and operations including establishing effective working relationships with public and employees.

Salary: $88,566 - $110,708, based on qualifications, with a comprehensive benefit package.
