The Treasury Controllers unit is primarily responsible for Prudential Financial Inc’s (PFI’s) derivative accounting policy, reporting, analyzing and communicating actual and forecasted results to the senior management, Prudential businesses and external disclosures under US GAAP and Statutory accounting standards. The unit is also responsible for supporting strategic initiatives involving derivatives and associated Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) policies, derivative reporting for Federal and Global regulatory supervision, external disclosures of PFI’s debt, and financial reporting of Prudential Global Funding (PGF), a subsidiary housing PFI’s derivative transactions.


The Derivatives Reporting Team within Treasury Controllers is responsible for the oversight of Prudential's derivative activity and for the reporting, analyzing, and communicating derivative results on a GAAP and AOI basis quarterly to Senior Management and the Prudential Businesses. The team is responsible for internal management and external (SEC) reporting including the Derivative Footnote and the derivatives sections within the Investment MD&A and Fair Value Footnote.


The successful candidate would support or be responsible for preparing the following:


  • Manage GAAP package submissions by partnering with subsidiaries contacts and reconciling derivative information to ledger.
  • Analysis of quarterly derivatives (GAAP and AOI) results on a profit center and consolidated basis.
  • Partner closely with internal and external auditors, Investment Operations, GAAP Consolidation, and SEC Reporting areas.
  • Report hedge accounting and review hedge effectiveness testing across the company.
  • Design, automate and maintain various spreadsheets used to compile and analyze data.
  • Assist with the preparation of the 10Q/10K derivative disclosures, including the Footnote, analysis of reported Realized Gains/Losses in the MD&A and the derivative Fair Value disclosures.
  • Work with various systems; Oracle (Prudential General Ledger), SUMMIT derivative valuation system, IRISK and GAAP Supplemental tool.
  • Prepare derivatives exhibits for the Investment Results deck for Senior Management.


Qualifications


  • Familiarity with Oracle, XBRL a plus
  • BS degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Min 3+years experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word
  • CPA track a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of the team in a fast-paced, ever-changing and challenging environment
  • Overtime required during peak period
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and partnering skills


Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $68,400.00 to $101,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
