The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Financial Controller to be part of our Finance team, based in Athens, Greece. You will manage a team of 2 Junior Controllers, directly reporting to you.
The overall purpose of the role is to support the Controlling requirements of the operations in Greece & Cyprus and provide insight into the financial performance of the business. This will involve ensuring that the countries finances comply with local regulations, reporting to HQ and Country Retail & Sales Director, providing detailed financial analysis on the performance of all stores and revenue streams.
In this role, your main area of responsibilities are:
1. Financial Control and Analysis
- To prepare revenue reports and distribute in a timely fashion.
- To ensure that all Store Managers/District Managers and Retail & Sales Director have the financial information that they need to be able to accurately assess the performance of each store and take action as appropriate.
- To support cash flow management.
- To provide financial analysis and information to support strategic decision making across the country.
- To prepare monthly management accounts.
- To ensure accurate stock accounting and reporting.
2. Business and Financial Planning
- To create and monitor financial plans.
- Supporting the Retail & Sales Director with the creation and implementation of business plans.
- To work with relevant management team members to create and monitor budgets.
3. Compliance
- To ensure that all statutory reporting requirements are met in line with local requirements.
- To support tax management.
- To liaise with several different stakeholders.
The profile:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a multi-national retail organization
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- A qualification as accountant (ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
- Fluent in English and in Greek
- Exceptional numerical and analytical skills
