Job Description

Provide analysis and support to the Bank’s budgeting, financial planning, and liquidity management functions. Lead analyst responsible for the budgeting activities. Prepares ongoing analysis and provides insights about operating and capital expenses. Assists with the preparation and review of accurate and timely Board of Directors’ Financial Management Report and supplemental materials. Provides support for the Bank’s cash and liquidity management functions. Prepares and presents analysis to working groups and committees. Responsible for various special projects, individually and collaboratively.
Major Accountabilities
  • Produce ongoing analyses of actual operating expense trends to identify developing issues and ensure quick resolution and notification to management.
  • Support development and explanation of the Strategic Plan financial projections, including periodic assumptions and forecast updates.
  • Subject matter expert for operating expense and capital expenditures model.
  • Responsible for analyzing, reporting, and maintaining monthly actual operating expense and capital expenditure performance, relative to budget, by major category, business unit, and project. Provides timely insights to executive management and cost center owners.
  • As needed, support daily cash and liquidity management functions using an in-house application to manage daily activity and reporting, within compliance parameters.
  • Support development of annual operating expense and capital expenditure budgets and supporting analysis; collaborates with the CFO and Financial Planning and Budgeting leadership.
  • Support monthly mortgage profitability and actual to financial forecast income variance analysis.
  • Expert user of Workday Adaptive Planning for budgeting, forecasting, analytics, and reporting purposes; able to identify opportunities to enhance implementation and provide excellent customer service to cost center owners.
  • Develop reports and presentation materials that effectively communicate financial performance and financial strategy to Bank committees and for the Board of Directors Financial Management Report.
  • Participate in and prepare analytic exhibits and working group and committee minutes, as needed.
  • Support capital markets analysis functions, as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint. Programming and data analytics experience preferred (VBA, SQL, Power Query/BI).
  • Highly motivated and results driven with ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred exposure to debt capital markets, including mortgages, derivatives, and fixed income instruments with embedded optionality.
  • Preferred experience with profitability measurement (business unit, products) and transfer pricing.
  • Minimum five years’ bank or corporate treasury or comparable experience in the financial services industry recommended.
  • Preferred exposure to budgeting, financial management, fixed income, interest rate derivatives, asset/liability management, and/or capital markets.
  • Preferred experience with Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning.
  • Detail oriented and strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of balance sheet and income statement dynamics, including quantitative skills.
  • Ability to interpret the results of complex financial analyses, develop conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability to teach and train business partners and new team members and interns. Able to interface with all functions and at all levels within the Bank.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, a related field, or equivalent education required. MBA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $132,500 - $179,300
