Job Description

About the Role:

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Our non-profit client is looking to bring on a strong Finance Analyst to their experienced team! As a Finance Analyst, you will play a vital role in our mission by ensuring the effective management of our financial resources.


Location: San Francisco, CA

Type: Onsite


Top Requirements:

  • Non-profit industry experienced required
  • 2-5 years of related finance experience


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close. Perform monthly closing tasks according to targeted deadlines.
  • Cross-train for other Finance roles and responsibilities
  • Reconcile weekly check logs to the bank statement to ensure all checks were deposited into bank account
  • Support ad hoc departmental needs
  • Prepare and collect supporting documentation for the annual audit
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting package for SHC management, including calculating key metrics
  • Assist the Director of Finance with budgets and financial analysis
  • Reconcile all investment accounts; record investment journal entries
  • Manage data collection and analysis for special projects, including creation of related journal entries
  • Reconcile the Development cash account monthly; determine restricted amounts to be released on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare fixed asset reconciliation on a quarterly basis; prepare journal entries to capitalize construction in progress
  • Review Finance team server monthly to ensure appropriate files and support are saved; back-up Finance team server files monthly
  • Prepare and analyze monthly budget to actual reports

  • Must show a high level of initiative and follow through with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency in using accounting systems, financial databases and managing lists and data in Microsoft Excel. Advanced Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, strong work ethic
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • Committed to ongoing education and professional growth
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including knowledge of
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and adjust workload to meet changing circumstances
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
