Field Installation Technician Jobs

Position Purpose:

Contribute to the accomplishment of cost effectively installing, commissioning, starting-up, and performance validation of digital control and automation systems in accordance with CSN provided engineered plans and software databases. Manage and direct subcontractors as required for assigned projects. Interface with the CSN engineer as required to obtain clarification and direction, or to report changes needed resulting from unforeseen site conditions.

Nature, Scope and Dimension:

This position reports to his/her assigned manager. The incumbent installs, commissions, performance verifies, and field manages assigned projects in accordance with defined company field procedures. This position supports all CSN projects within our company territory and will require some out of town work on projects. This position requires in depth knowledge of HVAC and mechanical system operation, and low voltage electrical wiring installations. This position is supported by the construction team, including the Application Engineer and the Programmer. Essential features of the role include some of the following:

• Assemble and install control panels in accordance with CSN provided job drawings and national and local electrical codes
• Provide updates to the status of assigned jobs.
• Install databases in digital controllers and assign addresses
• Provide site direction for electrical subcontractors including assistance with reading wiring details on CSN drawings and industry standard sensing and final control device locations
• Attend site job meetings in support of assigned projects
• Commission completed systems using prepared commissioning forms and CSN provided job drawings and sequences
• Install control systems and communication networks in accordance with CSN project engineered installation drawings and job requirements
• Validate and calibrate controller I/O devices
• Provide owner training as required
