Role Summary

MetaPhase Consulting is seeking a mid to senior level consultant with 7+ years work experience (with 4+ years of government consulting experience) to provide programmatic support to our FEMA client in the Grants Program Directorate. The project supports a team of clients focused on the administration of preparedness grants. Preparedness grants help develop and sustain capabilities at the state and local, tribal, and territorial levels and in our nation’s highest-risk transit systems, ports and along our borders to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate terrorism and other high-consequence disasters and emergencies. The successful candidate will help lead a team of contractors to triage multi-dimensional tasks and be comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with federally administered grant programs at the Federal, state, or local level.
  • Experience supporting emergency management programs at the Federal, state, or local level.
  • Knowledge of national doctrine, policy, and procedures guiding emergency management programs.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Work well in a collaborative, yet primarily remote, environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-faceted teams or tasks to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant, high-quality work products.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently; self-motivation and the ability to drive and own tasks are preferred.
  • Experience with developing professional briefing materials using suite of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio).
  • Ability to communicate with team members to translate client requests into actionable deliverables.
  • 7+ years of work experience; with at least 4 years of government consulting experience (commercial consulting experience will be considered).
  • Strong client engagement skills, comfortable communicating with all levels of client management and ability to manage the client relationship and expectations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with technical writing and editing a plus.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with clients to identify challenges, recommend solutions, and manage expectations.
  • Create, review/proofread content and format documentation and reports in accordance with client writing style.
  • Facilitate organizational knowledge management operations; update and maintain organizational SharePoint pages; and support the records and information management workstream.
  • Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable program policies, requirements, procedures, guidelines; and possess knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance requirements for FEMA and similar programs/projects.
  • Define project workflows, manage resources, prioritize responsibilities and tasks in order to deliver quality and timely results.
  • Develop communication and training materials, user manuals, and user guides
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee work of team members and subcontractors.
