We are searching for a Designer to join our amazing team. This position is primarily responsible for designing, developing, selecting, and approving materials, trims, silhouettes, colors, and patterns. You enjoy how it all comes together and seeing what people buy. The Designer should be an energetic collaborator with an adaptable communication style and a passion for continuous improvement. A strong candidate for this role is self-motivated, adaptable to creative feedback and has a passion for product design concepts and development for the customer.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the Design Director, Trend & Technical Design and Merchandising teams in developing and executing a strategic vision, with a progressive, customer centric approach all while delivering sales and profit objectives.
  • Partner with trend & merchandising in set up and presenting seasonal development.
  • Prepare line and presentation materials for strategy reviews including color/ concept boards.
  • Responsible for the design, development, selection and approval of trims, silhouettes, knit down, swatches, yard cards, colors, and patterns for the knitwear and woven’s collection categories.
  • Work with product development & sourcing to create and distribute fabric development packages.
  • Collaborate with Design team, Production team, and Merchandise teams cross-functionally.
  • Extensively research creative ideas, newness and innovations in knitwear and novelty and propose concepts for each season.
  • Ensure designs meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies and overall creative concept direction.
  • Compile design development packages and work with technical design to get specs and details, review development samples for correct execution and attend fit sessions to ensure integrity of design combines with proper fit for production.
  • Design women's' knitwear and woven tops in line with creative direction and merchandising plans to ensure brand aesthetic and commercial goals are aligned.
  • Interpret specific color palettes, patterns and prints for the season into the appropriate bodies, engineer patterns when necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Advanced visual and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to present strong critical thinking skills to appropriately problem-solve design decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines.
  • 3+ years of fashion industry experience
  • Proficiency in computer applications, MS office and Excel
  • Strong color and print sense; ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
  • Proven ability to create development tech packs/design layouts.
  • Demonstrated creative ability with sketching, photoshop and illustrator.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Technical knowledge of knitwear construction and materials.
  • Presentation and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design
