We are looking for a friendly, reliable and punctual person with a strong attention to detail, excellent communications skills, retail experience and some knowledge in artisanal and nutritionally dense foods and products, to work at our Berkeley Farmer Market Booth.

Primary responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection and purchases, end of day transaction reconciliation, maintaining booth appearance, assisting with packing/unpacking and loading/unloading products, booth set up and product display.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting customers with product questions and purchases
• Applying glass credits to live transactions
• Assisting with loading, transport and booth set up and break down
• Reconciling daily transactions
• Familiarity with housemade products
• Working closely with the market support person for a smooth and timely shift
• Being able to communicate effectively with customers about Three Stone Hearth's philosophy of traditional foods
• Stocking and displaying products
• Handling cash and credit card POS (point of sale) transactions
• Keeping the booth tidy and attractive
• Spreadsheet entries for accurate product inventory tracking
• Interfacing with Online Store Inventory role holder for approved inventory

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

• Attention to detail

• Arithmetic skills essential
• Highly self-motivated and organized; capacity to multitask, set priorities, and respond quickly to changing needs
• Good time management skills

Physical Requirements

• Good manual dexterity
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 plus hours)
• Willingness to work outdoors, year-round.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Specific Requirements

• Must have a current CA driver’s license and clean driving record, must be comfortable driving our company van.

Schedule

Current shift(s) to fill: Note shifts are longer than actual market booth hours to allow for pre and post market tasks. Shifts: Tuesdays 12 - 8:30 pm Saturdays 8:00am - 4:30 pm. Farmer Market Booth hours: Tuesday 2 - 6:30pm; Saturday 10 - 3pm.

Position could be combined with other roles in the company for more hours.

Compensation

$19.00/hour plus benefits noted above.
