Job Description
Position: Farm Maintenance/Groundskeeper
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm during Fall/Winter; Tuesday – Saturday, 7am – 3:30pm during Spring/Summer
Location: Dover, MA
Salary: $35/hour plus full benefits

Private estate in Dover, MA is looking for an individual to join its grounds and maintenance team. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position that includes working outdoors. Position requires running chainsaws, tractors, mowers, etc. Also, installing trees, shrubs and other garden plants and fixing irrigation leaks. There are varied tasks that include gardening, projects, farm support, and maintenance. It involves working outdoors in various weather conditions on a property that has wooded areas, fields, and keeps bees.

The working hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday in the Fall and Winter and 7:00am – 3:30pm, Tuesday – Saturday in the Spring and Summer.
  • Experienced in the use/operation of mowers, tractors, and safe hauling of equipment.
  • High attention to detail, proactive and positive attitude and most importantly a team-player. The estate is a collaborative team-centric environment
  • Installation, care of and ability to identify garden plants and trees is a bonus!
  • Must be able to lift and shift 70 lbs. of weight comfortably. Comfortable with bending, kneeling, walking, and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • The ideal candidate must be proficient in using a chainsaw and tree removal up to 12-15” in diameter. Candidates must be able to climb a ladder to do tasks such as gutter cleaning
  • Typical tasks include field mowing with a tractor, dragging the horse-riding arena, trenching water drainage, removing trees, and fallen limbs, cleaning building gutters, weeding, and gardening, snow plowing, and trail creation/maintenance.


This is a job for someone that likes to work outside and have variability in tasks. The team works closely together – candidates should have excellent communication skills, take direction well, and be comfortable working with many types of individuals in a professional and respectful manner. Tasks will change seasonally and will sometimes involve redirection as the needs of the property evolve.
