Humana Military is seeking a Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician to participate in the disability processing of our service members as part of the Medical Evaluation Board ("MEB"), at the Fort Gordon Army Base located in Augusta, GA. This Non-Clinical/Administrative opportunity entails reviewing soldier records and writing Narrative Summaries for submission to the MEB.

The city of Augusta, located in central/eastern GA (just 2 hours due east of Atlanta), is known worldwide for the Masters Golf Tournament and the coveted green jacket. Duty Hours M-F, DAYS, no nights, weekends or holidays.

Qualified BC/BE candidates must have completed an accredited residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, may be MD or DO, possess active/unrestricted license in any of the 50 States or U.S. Territories, BLS, Basic EMR/Word/Excel skills, and must be U.S. Citizen, per U.S. Government guidelines. Minimum of three years recent practice experience preferred.

Update information on current medical conditions, medications, and identify any readiness or deployment limiting conditions; identify and document medical conditions not meeting Army retention standards as part of the disability processing of active duty personnel in Fort Gordon’s Medical Evaluation Board.

The review of all patient records and associated reports must be completed, reconciled and consolidated into a Narrative Summary (NARSUM) within 45 days after receipt of request throughout the life of the contract. Each NARSUM will include assessment of the Soldier’s prognosis for each condition. Assessment describes changes in Soldier’s symptoms and/or physical findings likely to occur within the next five years, foundations for assessment must be included. The NARSUM must describe the relationship between medical conditions and profile limitations. All examinations are then uploaded to the eMEB. A minimum of 20 NARSUMs are to be completed every month.
