Job Description
The Families First of Michigan (FFM) Worker is responsible for adhering to the Families First of Michigan philosophy, values, beliefs, and contract requirements. Families First of Michigan keeps families together and safe by providing intensive therapeutic interventions to resolve major problems and assist families in learning to adequately care for their children. The FFM Program provides 4-6 weeks of intense program services

Catholic Charities West Michigan (CCWM) is a community-based agency providing programs in Western Michigan and offering a variety of services in family preservation, behavioral health, child welfare, and community outreach.

  • Provides 24-hours a day, 7 days a week availability to clients.
  • 24/7 availability for immediate and flexible work schedule is necessary
  • Ability to teach and model behavior
  • Ability to have a non-judgmental positive attitude toward families in crisis
  • Participates in sessions, reviews and meetings
  • Ability to work in partnership with other team members and/or service providers.
  • Completes necessary documentation and follow ups
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and meet deadlines
  • Develops treatment and goal plans for families in collaboration with other service providers


Education


Bachelor Degree in the field of Human Services or related is required, preferable in social work from a four-year college or university is required.


Wage Range$31,000.00-$38,000.00


Experience


A minimum of one year of related experience working with multi-problem children and families and the overall ability to relate to and engage with these families is highly recommended.

The In-Home Family Program is an in-home program for families at risk of having their children removed due to abuse or neglect, or families requiring timely reunification services. In-Home Family Services include parent education, home management, organizational skills, counseling or other skill enhancement necessary. Services are individualized and based on the family’s presenting concerns.


This position is part-time.


Hourly Wage Range $14.90-$18.39


Flexible work schedule after an initial training period that includes working in the office and out of the office.

  • Receive and accept written referrals immediately from MDHHS
  • Ability to work in partnership with other team members and/or service providers.
  • Develop Service plans for families in collaboration with referral source
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Develop emergency and safety plans for families of crisis or risk at harm to children


Education


Bachelor’s degree with a major in one of the following human service areas social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology or criminal justice is required.


Experience


A minimum of one year of field experience with children and families with multiple problems and the overall ability to relate to and engage with the families.
