Job Description
Summary


The Department of Genetic Counseling in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston is seeking a 0.20 FTE faculty member to start August 1, 2023.


  • Strong preference will be given to candidates within Mass General Brigham who are already involved in research, are familiar with and regularly utilize the MGB IRB and Insight, Redcap, and other MGB tools.
  • The faculty member is primarily responsible for coordinating the student Capstone research experience, working closely with the Director of Student Research for the Genetic Counseling Program.
  • In collaboration with other faculty, responsibilities include serving as a Capstone research advisor/PI, teaching in the Capstone four course series, other teaching, curriculum development, student recruitment, and the admissions process.
  • The successful applicant will also be expected to take part in scholarly and professional activities within the Genetic Counseling Department, MGH Institute, and Mass General Brigham.


Qualifications


  • The candidate must be familiar with ACGC (Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling) requirements and participate in the Accreditation process.
  • The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program, be ABGC Board-certified and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible for MA licensure) and have at least 1 year of experience as a genetic counselor.
  • The position requires a strong commitment to Justic, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as well as interprofessional education.
  • Faculty academic rank is commensurate with experience.
  • Experience as a research advisor and mentor, teaching experience, and a record of scholarship and dissemination is preferred.
