Facilities Maintenance Technicians on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Primary responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Technician are to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair. The Facilities Maintenance Technician works in various types of facilities and structures, interior to exterior, floor to ceiling, vinyl siding to soffits and roofs and everything in between such as cabinets, tables, benches, doors and door closures. Materials include wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, brick, ceramic tile and paint. The ideal EMI Facilities Maintenance Technician is an experienced handyman who does it all while following all health and safety standards.


Salary


$23.61/ hr. plus $9.25/hr. fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities


  • Assess tasks and determine solutions including cost, time and materials
  • Work independently with MINIMAL SUPERVISION
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments


Essential Skills


  • Adaptable and flexible in work situations
  • Basic understanding of facia and trim with fabrication skills
  • Work well in a team to complete tasks
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Mechanically inclined with the mindset of making alterations and repairs


Requirements


  • Valid DL compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • OVERTIME- Available evenings & weekends
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 + years of experience in the carpentry trades
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check


Physical Requirements


  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
