What do you get to do in this position?


As a Data Architect in the Data Services organization, you will bring your talent, passion, energy and focus to work every day as an active participant in the build out of our Global Data Platforms. The Data Architect will work closely with the business, solutioning, Cloud Operations and development teams to make sure the data management standards and governance are being adhered to and respected. This position will define, drive, and implement data architecture to support next generation data platforms, cloud strategies, and advanced analytics. The hired candidate will document models or views to show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and engineering of data store and data warehouse construction, data source identification, data modelling, database design and user self-service capabilities.
  • Provide feedback to the delivery and management teams to improve data acquisition (structured and unstructured), warehousing methodologies and tools.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the Data Services team with methodologies, tools and technical knowledge while acting as interface between the Global and regional teams.
  • Provide architectural expertise in defining and driving the right solution to meet the technical performance, scalability, flexibility, operations and capability needs.
  • Participate in and be aware of product features and their value realization.
  • Perform assessments (Proof of Concepts) of the latest tools and technology to solution and define the future technology roadmap.
  • Complete Data Architecture governance and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure compliance with architectural standards for coding and service combinations.


The right candidate will have the following capabilities and experience:


  • Familiarity with Database Migration and replication services such as AWS DMS, Qlik replicate would be a PLUS.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal direction.
  • Advanced cloud and on-premise knowledge of NoSQL database structures including AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.
  • Experience with Real-time/near real-time/event driven microservices solutions would be a PLUS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, technology or equivalent experience in data management, integration or data warehousing.
  • Understanding of the most current data manipulation programming languages: Python, R, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting data-related solutions on cloud platforms such as: Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of Data Management, Integration and Data Quality tools spanning No-code, low-code and code-first methodologies, such as: Alteryx, Trifacta, Informatica Power Center, Informatica Cloud, Databricks etc.,
  • Strong knowledge of analytics, heuristics translation, display, and dashboard reporting tools such as OBI, Tableau.
  • Advanced cloud and on-premise RDBMS knowledge including: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS Redshift, AWS Aurora, and SAP HANA.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Architect implementing Data Warehouse / Data Lakes design, data modelling, and ETL.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver using Agile/Scrum project methodology.
  • Experience working with Devops and CI-CD methodologies of software development.
  • 7+ years of experience in a progressively advanced role or a Masters degree with 5+ years of similar experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
