The Fare Savings Specialist role is to watch for attractive fare alternatives and generate savings for our Ford travelers. This is an exciting new opportunity, to support the rapid expansion in the fastest growing global Travel Management Company.
Hours:
8am-6pm EST- Monday - Friday
Compensation: Starting at $25/ hr based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • When required, get traveler to approve alternatives, summarizing savings to expect and potential additional costs (eg change penalties)
  • Check a broad range of international itineraries to find cost-effective alternative booking class
  • Technical skills required
  • Interact with Customer Service inquiries and Travel Counselor support
  • Client meetings on air contracts and testing in the GDS when implemented
  • Scripting writing a plus
  • Meet quarterly performance targets
  • Resolve issues linked to distribution or invoicing
  • Extensive fare rule interruption and ticket exchanges
  • Client Reporting on various programs on savings
  • Keep a daily log of tickets optimized, to track client savings and targeted it rate savings

Competencies:
  • Proficient on Sabre GDS
  • Ability to prioritize, track and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Microsoft Office application skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access
  • Creative, inquisitive and lateral thinker
  • Canada Cross- border a plus
  • Self-starter mindset, naturally motivated to meet and exceed financial targets
  • Quality checks, knowledge of debit memos, Max
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to multitask.
  • Interpreting fare policies
  • Must be able to work autonomously
  • Fare projects and budget analysis
  • Team Player
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Highly organized & detail oriented with a very strong focus on process, trends, and root cause analysis.
  • Must have strong International fares background, in a travel agency or airlines
  • 5 + years of Fare Savings experienced is preferred, but not required
  • Good oral, written communication, and listening skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of airlines (alliances, code shares, routes, fare rules…)
Our Traveler Care unit is a 24/7 operation. We have specific colleagues dedicated to the night shift, however, please be flexible and prepared to work afternoon shifts (12-8pm) and weekends.

The US national hourly wage range for this position is from $17.00 to $29.00 per hour. The national range provided includes the hourly rate that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual hourly wage rate will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
