EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL SECURITY DIVISION

ZanExec LLC has been retained to seek a senior executive leader for the National Security Division (NSD) of an established corporation in the national security space.The chosen executive leader for the National Security Division (NSD) will be responsible for expanding and integrating the company’s corporate capabilities in Intelligence, Space, and related classified Defense domains, while serving as member of the company senior executive team (SET) responsible for executive level decisions.

NSD’s mission spans a diverse portfolio of digital engineering/transformation, engineering analysis, rapid prototyping, experimentation, and test, software engineering, software development, operations analysis, and technical support services to mission critical classified programs.NSD’s professional staff of 300+ engineers, analysts, and scientists are deployed across the country at numerous offices and a variety of customer locations.Customers include the Intelligence Community, National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) and Research and Engineering (R&E), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Space Development Agency (SDA), USAF Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO), USAF Space Systems Command (SSC), Air Force Research Laboratory (Space Directorate), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and multiple industry clients

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Currently seeking a senior leader with 20+ years’ experience across the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and Industry in Space and Intelligence, especially digital engineering/transformation, modeling, simulation, and analysis, agile software development and cloud integration, software engineering, end-to-end technical services support to large, classified technology/capability development and test programs, and operational studies and analyses related to major DoD or IC kill chain architectures, systems, and technologies. Candidate must have demonstrated success leading and growing a Government Contractor organization with $100M+ - class annual revenue.

Candidate will lead a highly qualified team of Business Unit Directors who manage a diverse, geographically separated team of technical experts at all experience levels.The NSD EVP is a key participant in corporate strategy development who is responsible for communicating and implementing company level strategic objectives and actions within the Division, to include supporting business development, internal research and development (IRAD), capability focus area (CFA) and infrastructure capability investments.Current strategic actions include executing tasks such as developing a revised IC growth strategy and execution plan and taking strategic advantage of major market/customer growth opportunities in the U.S, Space Force (USSF) and Service Intelligence Centers (NASIC, NSIC, MSIC, ONI).


Candidate is accountable for continued growth and profitability of the National Security Division.The company has recently achieved significant NSD growth momentum. The NSD Division grew 50% over the last year from $80M in revenue in calendar year 2022 to an estimated $120M in revenue in 2023.The company’s long-term objective is to sustain enduring double digit organic growth with average contract profits above 10% (highly selective and specialized contracts portfolio).The NSD EVP with work closely with Division and company leadership as an exemplary team player to delivery these financial results while sustaining and enhancing their award-winning culture and high employee engagement as an enduring best place to work company.Candidate works towards annual performance objectives and metrics established by the President and CEO.

Candidate should have at least 20 years’ experience including leadership roles in several of the following areas:

  • Rapid Capability Prototyping, Experimentation, Testing, and Transition (muti-domain)
  • Digital Engineering/Digital Transformation services and solutions
  • DevSecOps and Software Engineering
  • Agile Software Development and Multi-Level Secure Cloud Integration
  • All-Source Engineering Analysis and Assessments
  • Intelligence and Space System architectures, capabilities, and technologies
  • Joint Kill Chain modeling, simulation, and analysis and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development (to include TS/SCI and SAP level integration)

Candidate should possess 10+ years’ experience working directly with IC agencies, DoD Service intelligence organizations, and related capability acquisition organizations, to identify threat drivers, emerging capability gaps, design and deliver innovative modeling, simulation, and software solutions, and develop analysis plans that will inform major cost, schedule, and performance decisions.

Other general qualifications include:

  • Ability to represent, model, and articulate their detailed Core Values, including a history of ethical business conduct.Outstanding personal reputation in the Space, Intelligence, and classified DoD markets
  • Experienced Government Contractor Leader with demonstrated expertise in successful P&L leadership of a $100M+ class portfolio in the Intelligence, Space, and classified DoD contracts.
  • Recognized as a highly credible leader across Government and Industry partners in these markets, with a reputation for integrity, and specific knowledge or experience set in high demand by multiple key customers.
  • Experience in planning and executing corporate growth strategies, from new business and capability investment/budget planning, through recruiting, talent management, and leadership/employee development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.Proven ability to interface internally and externally at senior executive levels, and ability to gain support and buy-in from all levels of leadership.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a consummate team player and has a track record of effective internal and external collaboration and team building.

Clearance

Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility required.An active TS/SCI with advanced tickets is preferred.US Citizenship is mandatory.Extensive experience with SAP programs required.

Education

BS or MS degree in hard sciences (mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science) will be considered.An MBA is desired.

Compensation

Compensation is open and will be determined by the market as well as the experience and background of the successful candidate.As a starting point only, a base salary in the realm of $280,000.00 to $320,000.00 is not unreasonable with significant year-end bonus structures and ESOP.

Travel

Relocation
