Description


Are you passionate about gaining hands-on experience in events and entertainment? We are looking for upbeat and engaging people to join our team in this part-time role for the 2023-24 G League season. As an associate, you will be responsible to will assist in all aspects of game entertainment for Oklahoma City Blue home games at the Paycom Center. This position offers experience in a variety of tasks and allows the associate to become familiar with many aspects of working in the sports industry!


In this role you will:


  • Prepare all props, prizes and additional items used for game presentation purposes each game
  • Assist in the execution of contests and promotions on the concourse and during the designated timeouts/quarter breaks
  • Participate in the set up and break down of all Blue signage as well as concourse booths and staff/fan interactive stations
  • Unload and distribute premium item giveaways at the Paycom Center
  • Contribute to the planning, coordinating, and implementing all game presentation elements
  • Participate in the execution of additional non-game events as needed
  • Assist with the develop of programming and scripting for all in game entertainment including videoboard content, on/off court recognitions, halftime shows, sponsor activations, in-game promotions and contests, and other entertainment elements
  • Assist with the execution of all group sales assets (prime-time series, high-five kids, team of the night, sound of the night, etc.)
  • General office duties including data entry, preparing game day files, copying, filing, and maintaining job lists as needed
  • Assist with the random selection of participants for on-court contests and promotions


What you’ll bring to the role:


  • Ability to simultaneously handle numerous tasks
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Proven ability to perform under tight schedules
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Desire to work in the area of professional sports is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Course credit is negotiable if requested


Additional details:


Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, depending on home games and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available to work all 24 Blue regular season home games and continue in the post-season as needed. Primary work location will be Paycom Center located in downtown Oklahoma City. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Physical requirements of the job include lifting 50 pounds and work environment will include loud in-arena music and crowd noise, flashing lights and the need to work outdoors in hot or cold weather for up to 10 hours at a time. This is a part-time position reporting to the Manager, Event Entertainment Programming. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
