Er Tech - 32 Hours (Evening Shift)

Full time Evening Shift

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced ER Technician to join our team of mission-driven healthcare caretakers. This person is responsible for direct patient care in the Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate will display a drive to provide patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, advocacy and education for the patient and families, and collaborates with all those who touch our patients. This critical role assists and functions as an assistant to MDs and nurses in selected surgical, orthopedic and medical cases. Provides direct care to patients of all ages.

Work Hours/Shift:

• Full-Time, 32 hours, Evening shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) must work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
• Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
• Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.
• Excellent Communicator: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family member.
• Technical Familiarity: Understanding in computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

Requirements:

• Certification: Must have current AHA BLS
• Will attend dysrhythmia training course and must pass to maintain position
• Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
• Experience: Preferable 1 to 2 years’ experience
• Must be available for 4-6 weeks of training/orientation in ED
• Education: High School diploma. Current CT licensed EMT preferred, will consider Medical Assistant and CT Certified Nursing Assistant with experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience: Previous experience as an EMT preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English and do simple math problems. Experience using a computer highly desirable.
