Equipment Operator:
As a Equipment Operator you will provide skilled and safe operation of equipment owned by the district including, dozers, transports (tractor/trailer), excavators, tenders, engines and other miscellaneous heavy equipment in support of emergency and non-emergency fire situations, and land management activities. When heavy equipment operation is not needed during fire emergencies this position will be utilized as fire line overhead. In this position you will be required to operate dozers on fires.
Here is what you need to Qualify:
Two (2) years of experience operating equipment multiple types of heavy equipment, example - Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe, Skid Steer, etc.
Note: Driver’s License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver’s license, a record check will be conducted on top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must have metal fabrication experience.
  • CLASS A CDL required by May 15, 2023.
Desired Skills:
  • Operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Read and apply state laws pertaining to the operation of motor vehicles and equipment.
  • Use methods and materials appropriately for the project assigned.
  • Maintain and repair equipment and machinery.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Oregon driver license appropriate for the class of vehicle used by the employing agency.
  • Load trucks and secure load to minimize merchandise damage.
  • Read and apply written instructions.
