Job Description

Salary: $1,819 - $2,223 semi-monthly *Salary may be commensurate of education and/or experience

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, and will be located in the Northeast Regional Office, 1709 Prospect Drive, Macon, MO 63552.

You will be joining the Water Pollution Compliance Unit in the Northeast Regional Office, where you will work to protect water quality for the Northeast Region. You will perform technical work implementing the Missouri Clean Water Law and Regulations to evaluate and determine environmental compliance and assist the general public and regulated entities.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform monitoring and sampling, as needed.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.
  • Conduct emergency response to situations that require immediate action, including outside regular work hours.
  • Prepare documentation that is timely and accurate (reports, correspondence, photographs, data entry, and forms) and conduct follow-up work for timely compliance.
  • Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community, and general assistance to the public, on water pollution requirements, both in the office and onsite.
  • Schedule and conduct environmental inspections and investigations at permitted and unpermitted facilities in the Northeast Region.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred degree program would include the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field.
