Job Description
Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking an Environmental Specialist to work with our team at Fort Knox, KY. It is part-time, hourly paid with full benefits.

Duties


  • Conduct and prepare air emission estimates; review NEPA and NEPA-related projects for potential impact on air program, ensure that compliance test protocols are complete, witness field compliance tests, observe operational conditions, and ensure test reports are complete and proper documentation is submitted to regulatory agencies.
  • Perform difficult engineering calculations and tests as required, including those utilizing complex computer spreadsheets and programs.

  • Determine correct state/federal application forms for new air emission units, complete drafts of forms along with pollutant emission estimates.
  • Review and interpret regulatory requirements listed in air pollution permits or approvals and develop necessary activities to maintain compliance.
  • Setup, coordinate, and administer compliance activities to maintain compliance with applicable air pollution standards.
  • Act as a representative for client in meetings with various federal state, regional, and local agencies.
  • Review numerous operational reports from multiple sources to verify compliance with air quality regulations.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate air emission operational data from emission units for compliance purposes.
  • Calculate emissions inventory.
  • Review/interpret air quality-related laws, rules and regulations and recommend actions to maintain compliance.
  • Develop required permit reports and ensure submission in accordance with submittal procedures of state and federal entities.
  • Calculate emission estimates, ensure that related emission fees are accurate, and track required payment of emission fees.
  • Develop and maintain multiple monitoring/tracking spreadsheets to meet requirements of air permits.
  • Conduct inspections, evaluations, and documentation of stationary emission sources to determine compliance with air pollution control laws and regulations.

Knowledge of


Applicable federal, state and local regulations related to air quality control, air pollution, and related compliance requirements; familiarity with all forms of air contaminants and associated regulatory requirements; common techniques related to general public agency administration, budgetary controls and permitting processes; engineering principles and practices, including those related to air pollution analysis techniques; engineering and scientific technologies related to air pollution control methodologies and equipment.


Education


Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or closely related field. If no degree, 5 years of related experience is required.
