AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Pocasset, MA location. This position will involve field work potentially including biological surveys, infrastructure/ wetland mapping using GPS, sediment and water quality sampling (must be comfortable with boat-based sampling) compilation of field data, data analysis and assistance with
preparation of work plans, health and safety plans, technical reports, and data presentation (i.e., GIS);

This position would also include but is not limited to:

  • Practice and programs.
  • Office based tasks include conducting post-processing and reporting of field collected data.
  • Technical writing and the ability to effectively express his or herself orally among internal staff, clients, and sub-contractors.
  • Performing a variety of routine tasks to gain experience and familiarization with methods,
  • Working as part of a larger team.
  • 60% travel with throughout the Northeastern US;
  • Working with GIS Platforms and utilizing your map making skills using GIS.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • BA/BS + or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will receive 40 hour HAZWOPER training. Selected Candidate will also
  • Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently.
  • Candidate must be able to pass requirements of an OSHA screening physical
  • Receive First Aid/CPR training.
  • Accepted standards of professional behavior.
  • Candidate must be experienced with basic computer programs; MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous field biology/on-water sampling and survey experience
  • Candidate must exhibit a mature sense of professional responsibility and awareness of
  • (HAZWOPER).
